You should also be aware of what’s trending and what’s in the forecast. Besides, your designs must be original and innovative. Good networking and communication skills are the other grounds; you need to understand the taste of the people you design for. You must have a good sense of color and color combinations and detail. Designers could work independently and in groups, so quick and effective decision making skills are a must, especially where working on bulk orders or industry is concerned.
